Learning & Organisational Development Manager | $150 - $175k + Super  

Standalone role reporting into the HRD with the opportunity to develop and implement strategic L&OD programs.

  • Global organisation backed by Private Equity
  • Own the L&OD function and partner with the ELT
  • Open to being based in Sydney or Melbourne (suburbs location)

The Company

Our client is part of one of the largest automotive businesses with origins in the United States to then dominating the Australian market over 40 years ago. Their growth is attributed to innovative practices which has seen their superior quality and service put their name on the map, which is underpinned by the passion of their 1000-person workforce. With a national footprint, our client services, leases and sells vehicles to Tier-One customers in the Australian market, working with them to ensure they select the right vehicles for their business through to offering high-quality servicing. With continued growth, new fleets and new technology, they are on the lookout for a Learning & Organisational Development Manager to join the team to ensure their people are set up for success to support organisational growth.   


The Leaders

This role will report directly into the Human Resources Director who has extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in large businesses. Their style is extremely collaborative, and their focus is to have strong capability in the team who are SMEs that own and execute on their functional expertise. Further to this, you will join a well tenured and professional People & Culture team who are located across Australia.


The Opportunity

As the L&OD Manager, you will own the learning and OD function with your scope being to develop and execute initiatives that support organisational capability and performance. Your role will see you partner with leaders across the business to understand learning needs and provide guidance on the most appropriate solutions.

It is an exciting opportunity to join the team as they move through a period of change. This involves looking at how P&C partner with the business and with regards to L&OD, assessing current capabilities versus what the future of work will look like. You will have genuine impact as you embark on this journey.

Further, you will:

  • Re-design and deliver the onboarding process
  • Design and rollout talent and succession frameworks
  • Work with leaders across the organisation to uplift capability in identifying L&D opportunities in their teams
  • Manage relationships with external partners and vendors
  • Review and revamp the leadership capability framework
  • Management and leadership of learning programs from learning needs analysis through to delivery
  • Work with SMEs in the business to deliver technical training
  • Develop an L&OD strategy that supports organisational objectives
  • Develop and socialise artefacts to ensure a consistent approach to L&OD.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will be an experienced L&OD professional who loves working in a hybrid strategic and operational role. You’ll have the experience behind you where you’ve developed a toolkit of what ‘good’ looks like and be able to bring ideas and solutions to the table.

Our client is a very pragmatic and practical business, and you will have the ability to deliver initiatives that are impactful and work in with the operations of the business. Experience in designing talent, succession and leadership capability frameworks will be key.

Further, you’ll be tech savvy, comfortable working in the LMS and using data to inform decisions.
