Job description

Senior Employee Relations Advisor | Established Brand, Excellent Development Opportunities!

Leverage your strong technical capabilities while refining your stakeholder management skills in this hands-on, business-facing ER role!

  • Be led by experienced & knowledgeable ER leaders
  • Provide expert case management support to a diverse stakeholder group
  • Established yet growing business, room to develop & progress

The Company

With over a century of presence in Australia, our client stands as a leader in their industry, continuously innovating their offerings and exploring new avenues. With a near 3-million strong customer base that represents a cross-section of the Australian community, they've now successfully ventured into international markets, leveraging the robust capabilities established in their local operations, with a dedicated aim to further expand their service lines. Rooted in a sincere dedication to customer value, community enrichment, and environmental stewardship, they are steadfast in achieving positive outcomes through set targets and unwavering accountability.

The Leaders

This role presents an opportunity to enter a highly capable ER team, headed up by knowledgeable yet down-to-earth leaders.

Your direct reporting manager will be the Group ER Manager, while you’ll work closely with the ER Technical Manager as well. Both have impressive professional backgrounds that are underpinned by deep technical ER & IR knowledge.

Working alongside you are a number of other Advisors & Senior Advisors. This is a team who place a high level of importance on the quality of service they provide, and are very much relationship-oriented in their approach to employee relations.

The Opportunity

Supporting stakeholders across both blue & white collar client-groups, this is a high-touch role with responsibilities encompassing multiple facets of ER & IR. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • End-to-end case management including involvement in more complex matters such as grievances & investigations;
  • Delivery of all outcomes from the disciplinary process when required, from performance management through to termination;
  • Provision of commercial, complaint, and accurate advice to stakeholders on any ER & IR concerns;
  • Interpretation of relevant employment legislation, both modern awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Involvement in projects such as restructures and organisational change;
  • Support in the enterprise bargaining process & liaising with unions when required.

About You

Crucial to this role is an acute understanding of fundamental employee relations. In particular, you will have proven experience in end-to-end case management and be confident in delivering commercial, compliant outcomes. Underpinning this is a strong foundational knowledge of EBAs and modern awards.

You will also need to have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to work in a collaborative, results-oriented manner. You’ll have the confidence to provide tailored, accurate advice to people leaders across your portfolio, as well as the ability to coach and guide them through any ER & IR concerns they have.

Exposure to a blue-collar environment will be highly advantageous, as this will allow you to show adaptability in how you partner with different stakeholders. Any experience with enterprise bargaining is highly desirable, though not a dealbreaker.

Finally, you’ll be ambitious and eager to grow and develop in this space, and have a naturally hands-on approach.

The Process

The process will consist of an initial meeting with a Levyl consultant followed by a two-stage interview process, through which you will meet with several leaders within the ER team.

For any questions, please contact Angus Swift on 0418 696 936 and we look forward to hearing from you!

Levyl encourage diverse, equitable and inclusive recruitment solutions and commit to respond to every applicant. We make selection and shortlist decisions based on your skills, experience, personal attributes, and motivators.
