With a steady pipeline of work and top ASX listed customers, they are on the lookout for a Group HSE&Q Manager to join their leadership team as they continue to drive a safety-first culture.

The Leaders

This role will report directly to the Managing Director who is an industry leader and has safety at the forefront of everything they do. He is a collaborative leader who displays a great amount of innovation and has achievable aspirations for the organisation. More broadly, you will join a team of Leaders who are down to earth, passionate about what they do and strive to lead a successful business both commercially and culturally.

The Opportunity

This role will see you lead a team of HSE&Q advisors to develop and implement a contemporary HSEQ plan that exceeds safety standards. It is a true strategic role that has impact as you will collaborate with senior leaders across the business to drive consistent processes and behaviours across the business towards safety.

You will travel regularly to the different sites around Australia, partnering with site leaders and regional operations managers to ensure you are across safety practices, constantly looking at ways to mitigate potential risks and continuous improvement of safety processes and policies.

Further, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Integrated Management Plan in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Continuous iteration of risk management systems and compliance processes to ensure that they are up to legislative standards.
  • Review and re-development of risk management systems and their effectiveness.
  • Work with business leaders to identify training gaps with respect to safety and quality.
  • Lead your team to enhance capability and drive knowledge sharing practices, ensuring that they are up to date with current requirements and practices.
  • Develop and enhance systems that relate to the reporting of incidents and incident response, driving accountability and risk-mitigation mechanisms.
  • Work in collaboration with the Operational and People & Culture team to ensure alignment in approach to safety and the management of incidents.
  • Contribute to leadership reporting and be a custodian of safety to your Leadership peers.

About You

The successful candidate will have extensive leadership experience, leading HSEQ in construction or related industry working on major projects/construction, supporting a blue-collar workforce.

Strong knowledge and application of relevant standards, legislation and regulations is a must. The ability to construct a strategy that encompasses safety holistically and delivering outcomes that are above standard and contemporary.

Your exceptional stakeholder management experience will set you up for success, particularly your advisory and collaborative approach to building capability. Above all, you will be passionate, down to earth and demonstrate a genuine commitment to harnessing a safe work environment, upholding the value that every employee has the right to return from work safely.

We anticipate the process to consist of three stages in addition to meeting with a Levyl consultant. This will include meeting with the key stakeholders across the business to ensure the right fit for everyone. The successful candidate will be required to undergo reference checks.
