The Leaders

You’ll be reporting into the VP of P&C Services, an inspiring HR leader with an impressive and diverse professional journey. You’ll also form part of a robust and cross-functional P&C team, working closely with the WHS function in particular.

The Opportunity

This role has a balanced remit consisting of both day-to-day, operational injury management responsibilities, and contribution to strategic development. This will encompass:

  • Overseeing the recovery at work process for ill and injured workers, with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for employer and employee;
  • Working closely in collaboration with relevant line managers and third parties to minimise duration and impact of injuries and illnesses, including execution of early intervention activities;
  • Managing any non-workers compensation claims;
  • Acting as a point of contact and SME on recover at work processes and coach leaders through best practice;
  • Helping to identify and report on key areas of risk within the workplace;
  • In conjunction with your team; monitoring the effectiveness of the strategic safety & wellness plan, identifying and implementing changes where appropriate.

About You

What will set you up to succeed in this role is a demonstrated technical injury management capability that is underpinned by tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related field, as well as return to work certification.

You’ll have proven experience with the end-to-end management of claims, and the ability to think about injury management & wellness from a big picture perspective and ensure your stakeholders understand the importance of safety in the workplace. You will be comfortable in liaising with unions, insurers and rehab providers and be able to work effectively with various stakeholders to achieve favourable outcomes with respect to injury management and recovery at work.

Finally, you’ll be proactive in nature, highly self-motivated and naturally be able to work as well autonomously as you can as part of a team!
