HR Business Partner | Autonomous Role, Dynamic Australian Business!  

Own the day-to-day HR function and contribute to strategic projects and for the retail operations of this iconic Australian business.  

  • Generalist business partnering role overseeing TA, ER and broader employee lifecycle
  • Coach and upskill leaders to drive capability

The Leaders

This role will afford you the opportunity to report directly into a highly experienced yet down-to-earth Head of Operations, with a strong tenure in industry. Other key stakeholders will include members of the Senior Leadership team across retail and support functions. While there is a centralised HR team led by a Group HR Manager, you’ll be afforded autonomy in this role and trusted to own HR for your portfolio.  

The Opportunity

The HR Business Partner is designed to be a hands-on, boots on the ground HR presence to the retail portfolio, while also contributing to longer-term HR strategy. Your responsibilities will include but aren’t limited to:  

  • Fostering robust and effective working relationships with managers, supporting them closely to uplift their people leadership capabilities;
  • Providing broad generalist support on a national level, from supporting the recruitment process to overseeing onboarding and induction processes;
  • Managing any employee relations matters such as misconducts and grievances;
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and ways to streamline HR workflows;
  • Work alongside senior leadership on important projects such as the EVP.

About You

Our client is looking for a strong and confident HR generalist with strong commercial acumen. Ideally, you will have practical experience within the retail sector as this will align you with the structure of the business unit you will be supporting.

You will take a hands-on approach to your work and have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will bring competency and assurance to the role to be able to identify issues and design and implement effective HR solutions.

Finally, you'll be ambitious and have a keen interest in owning an HR function and excited by the opportunity to influence senior leaders and drive change. 

The Process

Including an initial meeting with a Levyl consultant, the interview process will likely consist of 2 stages, through which you will meet with a number of stakeholders from the senior leadership team.
