Building COS’s People Function with Precision

Client Overview:
COS is Australia’s largest family-owned and operated workplace and education supplies business. As the company grew, it sought to strengthen its People & Culture function, specifically filling two key People Partner roles to support HR strategies and enhance employee engagement.

 

The Challenge:
Despite receiving approximately 800 applications after going to market, COS struggled to find the right candidates for these roles. Previous efforts with multiple agencies hadn’t delivered results and COS needed a more strategic approach, one that would go beyond simply posting jobs and waiting for responses. That's where Levyl stepped in.

Our strategy involved engaging deeper talent pools and creating a
co-branded social media campaign to promote COS as an employer of choice. By tapping into networks and leveraging referral pools, we found candidates who were aligned with COS's culture and goals.


3. Collaboration & Clear Communication:
Throughout the process, we maintained clear and regular communication with COS, providing feedback and aligning on shortlists. This collaboration allowed us to streamline decision-making and efficiently move forward with the hiring process.

 

The Results:
In just five weeks, Levyl successfully placed two People Partners at COS, overcoming the challenges faced in the previous six months. Our approach not only filled the roles quickly, but also ensured a strong fit for COS’s P&C function.

 

A fun coincidence emerged after onboarding: Grace, one of the successful candidates, and Alberta, COS’s Talent Acquisition Leader, discovered they share the same birthday. Meanwhile, Katie, another successful candidate, found out that she and COS’s People & Culture Manager, Helen, live in the same building. These discoveries sparked a few smiles once everyone got started.
