Contract Type:

Contractor

Location:

Sydney

Salary:

The Organisation

Levyl is partnering with a large, established organisation to appoint an experienced Workplace Relations Specialist on a minimum 7-month fixed-term contract.

Operating within a complex Australian workforce, the organisation has a strong focus on maintaining fair, compliant and effective employment practices. This role will sit within an established People & Culture function and contribute to a broader agenda spanning workplace governance, employment legislation, wage compliance and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated environment where technical workplace relations expertise is valued and where there is genuine scope to influence processes, systems and longer-term compliance practices.

The Team

Sitting within a specialist workplace relations and governance team, you will work alongside experienced People & Culture professionals across a broader contemporary HR function.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders across People & Culture and the wider organisation, providing specialist technical advice while contributing to proactive compliance and governance initiatives.

The team operates collaboratively, but this role will also offer autonomy to take ownership of key projects, analyse complex issues and provide practical recommendations to the business.

The Opportunity

As the Workplace Relations Specialist, you will provide specialist advice across employment relations, workplace governance and industrial relations, with a significant focus on wage compliance and Modern Award interpretation.

You will support and lead wage and entitlement reviews, analyse workforce and payroll-related data, identify potential compliance risks and help strengthen the systems and processes that support ongoing compliance.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and supporting wage compliance and employee entitlement reviews
  • Interpreting Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and relevant State and Federal employment legislation
  • Analysing timesheet data, penalty rates, allowances and other Award entitlements
  • Undertaking wage compliance risk assessments and identifying areas of potential exposure
  • Supporting salary reconciliation, wage review and broader compliance activities
  • Reviewing processes and systems across record keeping, contracts, time and attendance and workplace governance
  • Recommending process and system improvements to strengthen ongoing compliance
  • Supporting the implementation of changes arising from industrial relations reform
  • Providing specialist advice across complex ER/IR matters
  • Supporting workplace investigations and complex case management where required
  • Partnering with unions, employee representatives and workplace delegates where relevant
  • Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Taking ownership of proactive workplace relations and governance projects
About You

Levyl is looking for an experienced Workplace Relations, Employee Relations or Industrial Relations professional with strong technical capability across wage compliance, Modern Awards and Australian employment legislation.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience interpreting industrial instruments and applying them within complex workplace environments. Experience working across wage reviews, entitlement assessments, remediation programs or compliance projects will be particularly valuable.

This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys technical workplace relations work and wants to play a meaningful role in strengthening compliance practices, rather than focusing solely on day-to-day employee relations case management.

The Process

The interview process will include an initial meeting with a Levyl team member, followed by two meetings with the hiring team.

For a confidential discussion, please contact Emilia Rodriguez on 0497 938 177 or emilia@levyl.com.au.

Levyl encourages diverse, equitable and inclusive recruitment solutions and is committed to responding to every applicant. We make selection and shortlist decisions based on your skills, experience, personal attributes and motivators. When applying for one of our advertised opportunities, please share the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may require throughout the interview process.
