Contract Type:

Full Time

Location:

Sydney

Salary:

230,000.00 - 250,000.00 Year Remuneration commensurate with experience

The Company

This organisation is a key player in Australia’s energy future – operating critical infrastructure that powers millions of homes and businesses across the country. Whilst known for its engineering legacy, the business is now focused on transformation – investing billions in major projects that support our country’s shift to renewable energy.

Culturally, they are values-led, sustainability-focused, and committed to lifting capability and inclusion across their diverse workforce. With headcount set to increase over the next few years, this is a business building not just infrastructure – but the future of the energy workforce.

The Leaders

Reporting into a highly regarded General Manager of People, the successful candidate will join a high-calibre People & Culture leadership team that’s both progressive and delivery-focused. The broader executive team is leading the organisation through a significant period of transformation as it supports Australia’s energy transition.

With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and delivery at scale, the leadership group is aligned on building future-ready capability and a resilient, values-driven culture.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to influence and deliver transformational people strategies within a business at the heart of Australia’s energy future. As the Senior People & Culture Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leaders, embedding a commercial and people-centric approach to organisational performance and capability development.

You will be instrumental in building a workforce that is future-fit, adaptable, and aligned with ambitious infrastructure and sustainability goals. Key areas of focus include:
  • Leading strategic workforce planning and organisational design initiatives to support long-term growth
  • Driving leadership capability, talent development, and succession planning across key business areas
  • Supporting cultural transformation and change management through periods of expansion and innovation
  • Providing expert guidance on complex employee and industrial relations matters
  • Leveraging workforce data and insights to inform decision-making and optimise people outcomes

About You

We’re seeking a forward-thinking people and culture leader with experience delivering enterprise-wide HR strategies in large, complex environments, ideally with a blend of blue and white collar workforces. You’ll be a commercially minded business partner with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and enabling change through people.

You bring expertise across workforce planning, organisational design, and leadership capability, and are confident navigating employee and industrial relations in regulated, unionised settings. You’re comfortable working across matrix structures, collaborating with specialist teams to deliver integrated people solutions that drive both performance and engagement.

Your approach to people strategy is progressive, inclusive, and grounded in business impact. Exposure to infrastructure, energy, construction or other complex, project-driven industries is desirable.

The Process

The recruitment process will be two to three stages following a meeting with a Levyl consultant, prior to references, background checks and then offer! You will have the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders, ask questions and really understand the journey this organisation is on.

For any confidential enquiries please contact Antony Jones on antony@levyl.com.au.

Levyl encourage diverse, equitable and inclusive recruitment solutions and commit to respond to every applicant. We make selection and shortlist decisions based on your skills, experience, personal attributes, and motivators. Should you be successful for interview, we will tender you an interview accommodation checklist, so that you can let us know how we can support you to perform at your best.
