Head of People Partnering | $200-220k + Super

Date Published:

30-Jan-2026

1461569

Contract Type:

Full Time

Location:

Sydney

Salary:

200,000.00 - 220,000.00 Year

The Company

This organisation is a well-known hospitality, events and leisure group operating a large, complex portfolio of venues across metropolitan and regional Australia. Over the past four years, the People & Culture function has scaled rapidly, as has the enterprise headcount. They have grown from a small team to a well-established structure supporting a workforce of several thousand employees. The business operates in a near 24-hour environment, with strong operational leadership, high accountability and an unwavering focus on guest experience & service.

Now entering its next phase of growth and with expansion plans on the horizon, the Head of People Partnering role has been newly created to ensure business partnering, employee experience, psychosocial safety and general people practices are fit for the continued evolution ahead.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Head of People, the Head of People Partnering is a critical senior leadership role responsible for leading the people partnering and HR operations function across the business. This role exists to separate strategic leadership from day-to-day execution at the Group Head level, while strengthening partnering capability across operational and corporate portfolios.

Key areas of focus will include:
  • Leading and developing a team of senior People Partners while remaining hands-on in complex people matters (and higher risk ER cases)
  • Owning and embedding the people partnering and HR operations model, ensuring strategy translates into consistent execution
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior operational leaders across hospitality, food and beverage, events and corporate functions
  • Uplifting leadership capability in environments where many leaders have progressed through the operational ranks and lacked formal training
  • Embedding group-wide people initiatives across employee experience, engagement, performance and compliance
  • Supporting the integration of a newly established Employee Relations Lead and guiding structural change
  • Partnering with specialist teams to define and embed psychosocial safety, people risk and learning initiatives
  • Directly partnering with a sizeable head office portfolio of approximately 300 employees, spanning corporate, creative, technology, finance and operational support functions
This is a highly visible role that balances strategic influence & people leadership with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced, operationally intensive environment.

About You

This role will suit a commercially grounded People & Culture leader who thrives in complexity and pace! Your background may include experience as a Head of People Partnering or Head of HR Operations in a larger organisation, or perhaps a Head of People in a smaller, growing multi-site business. We are open to considering a senior HR Business Partner with leadership expertise and senior partnering experience, ready to step into broader leadership. You will ideally have:
  • Strong people partnering and ER capability
  • Experience leading and developing HR teams in fast-paced, multi-site environments (blue and white collar)
  • Confidence coaching, influencing and challenging senior leaders
  • A track record of embedding people strategy through practical execution
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, growth and change
  • Exposure to hospitality, retail or similarly operational, customer-facing sectors
This organisation is an office first environment, meaning 5 days onsite (based in the Sydney CBD) is normal. The team enjoy flexibility when they need it, and a wide range of perks and discounts associated with the portfolio of venues. You will value having a leadership presence, enjoy contributing to and guiding culture and have a people first, care centric mindset!

The Process

This search will involve three interview stages following an assessment process by Levyl. For a confidential discussion, please contact Sarah Bolitho on 0499 027 469 or sarah@levyl.com.au. We look forward to sharing more on this opportunity with you.

Levyl encourage diverse, equitable and inclusive recruitment solutions and commit to responding to every applicant. We make selection and shortlist decisions based on skills, experience, personal attributes and motivators. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be provided with an interview accommodation checklist to ensure they are supported to perform at their best.
