The Company
This organisation is a well-known hospitality, events and leisure group operating a large, complex portfolio of venues across metropolitan and regional Australia. Over the past four years, the People & Culture function has scaled rapidly, as has the enterprise headcount. They have grown from a small team to a well-established structure supporting a workforce of several thousand employees. The business operates in a near 24-hour environment, with strong operational leadership, high accountability and an unwavering focus on guest experience & service.
Now entering its next phase of growth and with expansion plans on the horizon, the Head of People Partnering role has been newly created to ensure business partnering, employee experience, psychosocial safety and general people practices are fit for the continued evolution ahead.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Head of People, the Head of People Partnering is a critical senior leadership role responsible for leading the people partnering and HR operations function across the business. This role exists to separate strategic leadership from day-to-day execution at the Group Head level, while strengthening partnering capability across operational and corporate portfolios.

Key areas of focus will include:
- Leading and developing a team of senior People Partners while remaining hands-on in complex people matters (and higher risk ER cases)
- Owning and embedding the people partnering and HR operations model, ensuring strategy translates into consistent execution
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior operational leaders across hospitality, food and beverage, events and corporate functions
- Uplifting leadership capability in environments where many leaders have progressed through the operational ranks and lacked formal training
- Embedding group-wide people initiatives across employee experience, engagement, performance and compliance
- Supporting the integration of a newly established Employee Relations Lead and guiding structural change
- Partnering with specialist teams to define and embed psychosocial safety, people risk and learning initiatives
- Directly partnering with a sizeable head office portfolio of approximately 300 employees, spanning corporate, creative, technology, finance and operational support functions
About You
This role will suit a commercially grounded People & Culture leader who thrives in complexity and pace! Your background may include experience as a Head of People Partnering or Head of HR Operations in a larger organisation, or perhaps a Head of People in a smaller, growing multi-site business. We are open to considering a senior HR Business Partner with leadership expertise and senior partnering experience, ready to step into broader leadership. You will ideally have:
- Strong people partnering and ER capability
- Experience leading and developing HR teams in fast-paced, multi-site environments (blue and white collar)
- Confidence coaching, influencing and challenging senior leaders
- A track record of embedding people strategy through practical execution
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, growth and change
- Exposure to hospitality, retail or similarly operational, customer-facing sectors
